Corporate MC — Sydney

A corporate MC who keeps the room on time, on message and awake.

Conferences, awards nights, galas, product launches and end-of-year parties. We hand-match you with a professional host who runs the night so your team can enjoy it — in English, or in every language your people speak.

Why it matters

The MC is the difference between a night that runs and a night that drags.

A corporate event has more moving parts than any wedding: sponsors to thank, a CEO to introduce, twenty awards to get through, an AV team on a countdown and a room full of people who half-know each other. Someone has to hold all of it together on the microphone, and it should not be the person who also has a job to do in the room.

Handing the mic to a staff member is the most common mistake we see. It is not their day job. They read the run sheet, miss the key points, and the energy in the room never lifts — nothing goes wrong, exactly, but nothing is special either.

A professional MC knows what to say, when to say it, and how to lift a shy room. That is what we match you with.

From a real event

A Christmas party of 200, booked again the next year.

A Sydney property developer asked us for a Christmas party host for around 200 staff. The brief was clear: high energy, please — a lot of the team are shy, and they wanted a night that got people out of their seats.

So the MC worked the room. They walked the floor with the microphone, talking to people at every table, and warmed the room up rather than waiting for it to warm itself. They also suggested Christmas giveaway games, checked the idea with the client first, and ran them on the night.

The CEO told the client afterwards that they had found a really good MC — one who could bring out the energy of the room. This year the company booked the same MC again, and said it was a must: they wanted that host specifically, because of how good last year was.

They booked the same MC again the next year, and said it was a must.

Choosing well

What to look for in a corporate MC.

This is what we check before an MC is put in front of your company.

Runs to the minute

A conference or awards night lives on its schedule. Your MC confirms the length of every speech beforehand — including the CEO's — and keeps the night on time on stage, without anyone feeling hurried.

Knows how to run awards

However many awards you have, your MC can carry them. With a long list, we suggest splitting them into sessions, holding applause to the end of each group, and gathering each category's winners on stage for one photo rather than calling them up twice.

Lifts a shy room

Colleagues who see each other every day are often the quietest crowd. A good MC reads that, gets off the stage and works the tables, and gives people a reason to join in.

Fluent in every language in the room

Overseas head office on the guest list, or a multicultural workforce? Your MC can host in two languages, and translate speeches live if the script is shared before the day — so nobody sits through the night without following it.

Works with your AV and event team

Your MC coordinates with the AV crew on the day, and with your venue, agency or in-house team beforehand, so cues, music and screens all land where the run sheet says they will.

Suggests, then checks

Good MCs bring ideas — a game, a segment, a better order for the speeches. Ours propose them to you first and run only what you have signed off.

The first call

What we will ask you.

Whether you are the CEO, the executive assistant who was handed the job, or the agency running the event — a real person calls you first. These questions decide who we match you with.

  1. What is the event, and what does a good night look like for you?
  2. Who is in the room — staff, clients, partners, guests from overseas — and how many?
  3. Which languages are spoken in the room, and by roughly what share of guests?
  4. Who is speaking, and how long is each speech?
  5. Are there awards? How many, and in what order?
  6. Where is the venue, and what time does the event start and finish?
  7. What tone do you want — polished and formal, or high energy?
  8. What is your rough budget for the MC?

The speech and awards questions matter most for a corporate night. They set the run sheet, and the run sheet decides whether your event finishes on time.

Before the day

Your MC does the work before anyone walks in.

Once you have chosen, your MC holds briefing calls with you or your agency, builds the run sheet with you, and learns how to pronounce every name they will announce — winners, speakers and sponsors.

They script and time the introductions, confirm the length of each speech with its speaker, and coordinate with your AV team so every cue is agreed before the day. If you would like speeches translated live, share the scripts before the event and your MC will be ready.

Questions companies ask

Before you book.

How much does a corporate MC cost in Sydney?

An established corporate MC for a single evening usually sits between $1,400 and $2,200, with senior hosts for galas, awards nights and launches at $1,800–$2,500+. Half-day and full-day conferences, a rehearsal the day before and multi-day events are quoted to suit. Each extra language adds roughly 10–15%. All fees are plus GST.

Can our MC host in two languages?

Yes. Many Sydney companies have an overseas head office, international guests or a multicultural workforce. Your MC can host in English and a second language, mixing them naturally rather than repeating every line, and can translate speeches live if the scripts are shared before the day.

Can we see the MC's experience before we book?

Yes. Your shortlist shows each MC's experience, languages, photos and showreel, with a firm quote beside it. Every MC on it has already confirmed they are free on your date. You choose who you would like to speak with.

How far ahead should we book?

Book as early as you can — end-of-year dates go first. We recommend at least two weeks' notice. In an emergency we can move faster: the shortest turnaround we have filled was three days, when another supplier fell through.

Our CEO tends to run long. What does the MC do?

Your MC confirms the length of every speech with its speaker beforehand, builds the run sheet around those times, and keeps the night on time from the stage — gracefully, so no speaker feels cut off and your event still finishes when it should.

We have a lot of awards. Will the night drag?

Not with the right structure. Your MC can suggest splitting a long list into sessions, holding applause to the end of each group, and bringing each category's winners on stage for one photo instead of calling them up twice. The room stays engaged and the schedule holds.

Do you work with event agencies?

Yes. We are booked both directly by companies — by whoever has been handed the job — and through event agencies. Either way, your MC briefs with the people running the night and coordinates with the AV team on the day.

Is a deposit required?

Yes. A deposit secures your date and your MC. The quote on your shortlist is the all-up fee, plus GST.
