Getting started

We’re a Sydney-based concierge for hiring a Master of Ceremonies. Instead of asking you to scroll through a directory, we learn about your event and personally hand-match an MC who fits the room — language, tone, and brief.

Click ‘Hire an MC’ anywhere on the site and walk through the short enquiry. We’ll be in touch shortly afterwards to talk through the brief in more detail.

An MC keeps the run sheet flowing — handing off between segments, introducing speakers, and coordinating with the venue, the band or DJ, and the catering team. They make transitions feel natural, hold the energy steady, and quietly handle the small surprises that always come up at live events. By the end of the event, your guests remember the moments, not the logistics.

A great MC makes hosting look easy — but the calm, the timing and the ability to ride a curveball come from years of mic time. Even confident public speakers tend to find it hard to be ‘on’ for hours while reading the room. We’d rather your friend gives a heartfelt speech and enjoys the celebration with you. Hosting is what we do.

Some can — but the two roles ask for different things, and doing both at once typically means one drops. A DJ reads a dance floor; an MC reads a whole room of segments, speeches, surprises and timings. In most cases, you’ll get a better event with a great DJ and a great MC, each focused on their craft.

Sydney is home base. Many of our MCs travel across NSW and interstate for the right event — tell us your location in the enquiry and we’ll factor it into your shortlist.

Weddings, corporate launches and conferences, cultural festivals, awards ceremonies, galas and fundraisers, milestone birthdays, and private celebrations. If you’re unsure whether your event is a fit, get in touch — we’re happy to talk it through.

Pricing & payment

Sydney MC fees typically sit between around $800 for a shorter reception host and $2,500 for a premium bilingual brief, with galas and corporate launches running a touch higher. Our pricing page has a live calculator that gives you an indicative range for your specific event.

Our matchmaking is free. We find the right MC for your event so you don’t have to dig around the internet — the only thing you pay is the quoted fee for the MC you choose, shown clearly on your shortlist.

Yes. Each MC on your shortlist comes with a firm quote — that’s the fee they’ll host your event for. There are no hidden additions, and no booking fees on top.

Payment timing is arranged directly between you and your MC after we introduce you. The fee itself is the quoted amount you see on your shortlist.

No — the calculator is a guide so you have a sense of what to budget. Once we’ve put your shortlist together, each MC will come with a firm quote.

Most MCs price per event rather than by the hour — the preparation time is roughly the same whether the event runs three hours or six. The quote on your shortlist will be the all-up fee for the brief you sent us.

The matchmaking

We aim to be in touch shortly after your enquiry. Most shortlists are put together within 3 business days of our initial call.

Typically two to four MCs per shortlist — a curated set rather than a long list, so you can give each one proper consideration.

We hand-match MCs who speak the languages on your brief — not just a few rehearsed phrases. The languages each MC is comfortable in are listed clearly on your shortlist.

In most cases yes — for weddings and high-stakes events, a short call or video chat with your chosen MC is usually arranged before confirmation.

Let us know — we’ll go back and look at other options. You’re under no obligation to book from your first shortlist.

On the day

Typically at least an hour before guests — often two — so they can meet your venue manager, check the sound, walk the run sheet with the catering and entertainment teams, and absorb any last-minute changes. By the time your first guest walks in, your MC is already settled.

The run sheet is the timed schedule of the event — when guests arrive, when food comes out, when the speeches happen, when the dance floor opens. Your MC will build it with you in the lead-up, asking the right questions and pre-empting the small stuff. On the day, it sits with them throughout — that’s how things stay on time without ever feeling rigid.

No — a good MC tailors their energy to the room and the host. Some events call for warm and quiet, others for high-spirited and playful. Your MC will adapt to your tone, your guests and the moment. The day belongs to you; they’re there to hold it together.

Yes, please. Your MC will be on their feet for hours and needs the energy. It doesn’t need to be the guest menu — a ‘crew meal’ (often the same as the catering staff get) is plenty. Most venues handle this automatically when they know there’s a host on the floor.

Get in touch and we’ll do our best to introduce you to another MC who fits your brief. Replacing at very short notice isn’t always possible, but we’ll always try.

Date changes are between you and your MC — once we’ve introduced you, those arrangements live with the two of you. If your MC isn’t available on the new date and you’d like another match, get in touch and we’ll see what we can do.

Cancellation terms are agreed directly between you and your MC. Our role is the match — the booking arrangements are theirs to set, not ours to police.

Once we’ve connected you, you and your MC plan the event directly — share run sheets, talk through the brief, whatever it takes. We step back so you can plan freely.

For MCs joining us

Yes. Create an MC account, set up your profile, and we’ll have it in mind when matching enquiries that fit your languages and specialities.

MCs nominate a rate band on their profile. The fee you receive for any specific booking is agreed before you accept the brief.

No — we hand-match enquiries to MCs whose languages, event types and availability fit the brief, so what you see in your dashboard is curated.

Yes. There’s a ‘taking new bookings’ toggle in your dashboard — turn it off any time, turn it back on when you’re ready.
